During the colder weather I'm a guest vendor at The Palisades Winter Farmer's Market - the first indoor winter market in Rockland County!
The Palisades Indoor Farmer's Market, run by the super sweet Carol (who will always greet you with a smile and a hug), is held in a 1800s schoolhouse in Palisades, NY. It reminds you of a time when people shopped as a community with family and friends and they most likely knew the people who grew their food.
This cozy market not only features some of the best local produce, dairy, and meats, but there's also prepared foods like hummus, pesto, and fresh breads. There's always coffee and tea with tables and chairs set up for you to enjoy the atmosphere. Check out their vendor list, which is updated weekly, to see what fresh, local goodies you can bring home with you. Here's some pictures from opening day this past Sunday. Hope to see you there soon...we'll be back February 11, March 11, April 8, and May 13.

The traditional opening day picture! From local kefir and yogurt to local honey infused whiskey, this is great group of folks!
Getting set up before the market opens.
Probably my two most favorite veggies evah! Fresh from Do Re Mi Farms in New Hampton, NY.
When broccoli and cauliflower have a baby it looks like this...broccoflower!
Maple syrup, seasonal honeys, and infused whiskey...Oh my! All this delicious decadence can be found at Catskill Provisions from Long Eddy, NY.
100% New York State raw honey is the common ingredient in all of Catskill Provisions all-natural food products. From chocolate honey truffles (crazy tasty) and sauces to mixes and marinades to rubs and cocktail rimmers and, of course, their highly acclaimed whiskeys & spirits.
If you want the real deal when it comes to artisan cheeses, look no further than Cooperstown Cheese Company in Milford, NY. Bob and Sharon's cheeses are top notch!
All the cheeses in a row...I got the cheddar and their Jersey Girl cheese is award winning! I spy some High Street Soap in the background.
Kontoulis Family Olive Oil in Larchmont, NY sources their high quality olive oil from their family farm in Strefi, in the fertile plain of Messinia, Greece.
Do you know what's worse than standing across from pie and not having a piece of pie? Standing across from Pie Lady and Son's pie all market long and not having a piece of pie. Made fresh in Nyack, NY - follow their instagram and try not to drool on your phone.
Freedom Hill Farm in Ottisville, NY has some of the freshest and tasiest kefir and yogurt around. Must be their happy Jersey cows. They also sell licensed raw milk in the store at the farm. Visit their site for more info!
